Noise And Ruction. The name says it all. Kim, Basti and Mitch are self-taught musicians. Summed up, they have been making music for over 70 years, even though none of them ever really learned their instrument.
They are united by their shared punk past in their village, even if it has faded over the years. Even though none of the three still walk around with spikes or mohawks, that spirit has remained and is reflected in their music.
Loud, raw and unpolished.
None of their songs will ever change the world. But there are some songs that have changed their lives. The music of Noise And Ruction is shaped by these influences.
True to the motto: ‘Energy is more important than harmony’. Or as Henry Rollins once said: ‘If you do something, never do it half-heartedly. If you love someone, love them with all your soul. If you work, work yourself to death, and if you hate someone, hate them until it hurts.’
The important thing is: start together and finish together.
Noise And Ruction was formed in 2014. After fourteen years, Basti and Kim met again at a concert given by a band they were friends with. The two had started making music together at the age of 17, but lost contact with each other after their band broke up.
Basti and Mitch were playing in a band in 2014, while Kim had previously played in various bands as a guitarist, bassist and shouter. At the beginning of 2014, the guitarist of Basti and Mitch's band decided to take a new direction after several years. At the same time, the band in which Kim was the shouter broke up.
Suddenly, they had the time and the desire. The first year was marked by various changes in the band's line-up. Different singers and guitarists came and went without really sparking the band's creativity.
At the end of 2014, it was decided to continue as a trio, as enthusiasm remained unbroken. More or less by chance, it was decided that Kim would take over both the guitar and vocals from then on, even though he is nowhere near proficient at either.
Don't get us wrong, we have no ambitions whatsoever. We do it all just for fun and to hang out together. If we get a gig now and then, we're happy, but we don't want to rush into anything. (even after more than 10 years)
